The Movers4Wellbeing Fellowship aims to enhance mental health awareness, develop coaching skills, promote Sustainable Development Goals, and foster community engagement among fellows.

The Movers for Wellbeing Fellowship is a 3 months program, in collaboration with Overcome, a UK-registered mental health charity, Skill Our Future and Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform (YECAP). The programme aims to empower young mental health practitioners and advocates.

 

Fellows will gain hands-on experience, personalized training in therapeutic techniques, and supervised client work as mental health coaches. Participants initiate community projects, join a network of like-minded professionals, and contribute to research, with opportunities to be published. No prior qualifications required—just a commitment to making a difference!

Clinical experience similar to working as an Assistant Psychologist, Support Worker, or Psychological Well-Being Practitioner
  1. Supervised Client Work: Collect a diverse portfolio of up to 100 clients, each contributing to your accumulation of clinically supervised hours.

  2. Personalised Training: Tailored one-to-one and group training on Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and ​Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

  3. Research Experience: Contribute to primary research and get the opportunity to be a named author on published research papers.

  4. Professional Network: Work with top graduates and future leaders in the field of psychology within a professional environment prioritising wellbeing and community.

  • Young person age under 35;

  • Individuals with a strong interest in mental health and a desire to help others, preferably with some knowledge of interventions;

  • Intelligence and a willingness to learn and grow;

  • English proficiency;

  • Availability for full-time commitment during the 3-month term;

  • No prior qualifications or specific career goals are necessary. Your willingness to contribute and make a difference is what matters most to us;

  • Individuals from underrepresented communities (LGBTIQ+, PwD, Indigenous Peoples,...) are preferred.

  • What is the commitment requirement?
    The expected average working hours are approximately 30 hours per week for 3 months.
  • What if I am not available for this cohort? Will there be another opportunity?
    Yes, we are adjusting the program recruitment on a rolling basis. You can apply in the following months if convenient.
  • I can only make time for a month, can I still apply?
    Yes you can, as long as you can commit to your first month’s intensive training, the timeline of community project is adjustable.
  • Is 30-hour commitment fixed in 9-5 hours?
    For the training month, it takes place UK timezone 10am to 5pm. You will be able to share your availability if you can only practice after working hour.
  • Does fulltime commitment mean full day?
    Apart from 1-3 hours training on the training month, the practice and project time commitment is flexible based your availability.
  • What are community projects that I can join?
    Once graduating the fellowship, you can apply your knowledge in a 2-month practical phase, providing mental health support to participants in programs/community projects such as the Movers Programme, YECAP, Skill Our Future. This hands-on experience will allow you to make a tangible impact while refining your skills in real-world settings.
