Young Indonesian entrepreneurs turned their ideas into AI-powered digital solutions for education through Skill Our Future's EdTech Impact Bootcamp, supported by UNDP Indonesia, IsDB, Microsoft, and Kitabisa.org.

JAKARTA, 28 August 2026 — Two hundred young Indonesian entrepreneurs graduated from the EdTech Impact Bootcamp, a three-month online incubation programme under Skill Our Future, a flagship initiative of the Youth Digitalization for Employability and Entrepreneurship Programme (YDEEP), led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Indonesia.

Delivered from June to August 2026 through the Kitabisa.org platform, the bootcamp trained entrepreneurs aged 17 to 30 on digital marketing, remote team leadership, AI tool proficiency, digital operations, product development, early-stage finance, business scaling, and investor pitch readiness, backed by ongoing group mentoring. Priority was given to applicants from Aceh, East Java, East Kalimantan, North Maluku, West Sulawesi and Papua, opening doors for young innovators in provinces often bypassed by Indonesia’s digital economy.

“Technology is developing very fast. Digitalization opens great opportunities to make education more accessible and more relevant,” said Ms. Sagita Adesywi, Business and Human Rights Specialist, UNDP Indonesia, in her opening remarks at the graduation ceremony. “But technology alone is not enough. We need people who can turn technology into real solutions.”

At the Graduation Day, the bootcamp’s top 20 enterprises were announced and will advance to a one-on-one mentoring phase with additional support: a digital package covering a website, an AI-powered customer chatbot, and a one-year payment gateway; access to non-interest, mobilized through crowdfunding with project partners; and a grant from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to 10 of the top 20 youth social enterprises. Winners will receive further mentoring and showcasing opportunities through September 2026. Among them is GenKiddo Academy, an East Java startup that uses AI-powered adaptive learning to teach coding to children aged 5 to 12, and CitaKita, a North Maluku social enterprise turning food and beverage programmes into community feeding initiatives, reflecting the range of youth-led solutions supported across Indonesia’s priority provinces.

“Witnessing 200 youth entrepreneurs from across the archipelago transform ideas into digital solutions for education left me deeply optimistic about Indonesia’s journey toward Indonesia Emas 2045,” said Ashekur Rahman, Operations Team Lead at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), who delivered keynote remarks at the graduation ceremony. “IsDB is proud to partner with UNDP Indonesia, Kitabisa, Microsoft and the Government of Indonesia on this initiative, which goes beyond building digital skills to nurture an ecosystem where young innovators can solve real-world challenges and advance inclusive growth.”

The EdTech Impact Bootcamp marks one milestone in Skill Our Future’s wider effort to connect youth-led enterprises, including women and youth in underserved provinces, with market opportunities and strengthen Indonesia’s digital and AI skills ecosystem.
